Harnessing the Power of Social Media Automation

Nathan Johnson - July 1, 2020 - 0 comments

Even though you know that your business needs to be on social media, you also know how much time it takes to do so, especially if you want to see results. Not only should you be posting multiple times a day, but you also need to respond to any comments, reviews, and answer questions if you are really serious about growing your business.

However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Social media automation allows you to use tools to help you market your business effectively through different social media sites.

Here are some tips to help you harness the power of social media automation.

Look into social media automation software and apps.

There are many social media automation software and apps to make scheduling social media posts in advance. Some also help you find out when someone mentions you or leaves you a comment on one of your social media sites.

Some of the most common social media automation software and apps include Hootsuite, SproutSocialSocial Oomph, and Social Flow, though there are many on the market. Each works differently so you may want to try a few out before you decide which one works best for you.

Don’t forget about monitoring your social media sites to find out who is talking about your business.

There are many tools which let you know when someone is talking about your company. Brand24 is one of the best ones out there. Though it won’t schedule any posts for you, it can help you keep track of any comments that you may get (and not realize).

Remember that there is nothing wrong with reusing and recycling content.

Coming up with new content several times a day is challenging. Add in the fact that not everyone will see your posts the first (or even the second) time that you post them, there is nothing wrong with reusing and recycling content.

If you are using the same content on multiple channels, you might want to tweak it a little for each one. Not every piece of content is going to work on each social media site. You are going to need to shorten your messages for Twitter. You also aren’t going to want to post some content on LinkedIn, unless it is purely business.

Use tools to help you share other people’s content.

Though you may feel like social media is only used for sharing your own content, it is also about sharing other content. This is called curating content, and there are some tools that can help you with that.

Hootsuite can offer suggestions on content that you may want to look at. This is based on keywords that you use regularly. Buffer can also help with this. You may also want to look into newsfeeds. Feedly and Scoop.it are only two tools you can use. However, you may find that Curata is your best option.

Though social media automation can help your business grow in ways that you never imagined, the truth is that it can’t do everything. You are still going to have to monitor any comments and messages that you get and reply to them. You are going to want to make it a point to start and finish meaningful conversations with others through social media. You need to build relationships with people, which can’t be done through automation.

That being said, using automation tools can take your marketing to a whole other level. You are going to be able to post more often, keep an eye on comments and mentions that you get, and much more. There are even tools to help you share content from others!
